Branson Area: Branson: Fishing guides have watched as lake levels rose three feet and have been drawn back down to a foot above normal in less than a week. Current has been the dominate factor when looking for fish as most Branson fishing guides have found out. Concentrate your efforts on points, main lake and secondary points in larger creek arms have been producing most of the fish. Jewel football jigs and Squirrel heads have been the most productive from 10’ – 25’ deep. Drop shot rigs will also produce with Tightlines UV finesse worms from 25’ – 35’ deep right on the bottom.

Kimberling City Area: Early and late there has been a decent topwater bite in the mid lake area. Branson fishing guides have found fish suspended on the downstream side of main lake points and in pockets behind points willing to chase spooks, Sammies and pop-r’s during low light hours. The Jewel football and Squirrel head bite has been strong here as well, look for shallow flat points to out produce steep ones and work the areas where they fall into deep water. UV 6” finesse worms have been the top bait on a squirrel head follow closely by a UV Senko.

James River: The water is still moving in the James River but not nearly as strong as over the weekend. Branson fishing guides have noticed a significant clearing over the past couple of days as well. 10’ UV ripple worms continue to produce around brush or rock piles, any laydown found along the shoreline needs to be worked over thoroughly. Jewel football jigs have produced well also, look for areas where shallow points drop into deeper water to be the best; locations and drag 5/8 oz. Missouri craw football jigs with a UV green jig trailer from shallow to deep.

White River: The White River has been on fire over the past week with the influx of fresh water; Jewel football jigs, Chompers spinnerbaits, topwater lures and Squirrel heads have all been producing. The topwater bite has been lights out when you find the fish look to pockets and small coves with limited standing timber that downstream from main lake point to be the most productive, on cloudy days this bite can last for hours. Flat, windy points will produce with a spinnerbait, cast up to the bushes and work back with a moderate fast stop and go retrieve. These same flat points will produce with a green pumpkin candy Jewel football jig when worked from shallow to deep.
